Trusting When We Cannot See by Pastor Tom

Just when you thought it was safe to start putting away some of your winter clothes and break out the shorts and tee-shirts, in blows the “Blizzard of 2017”! Let the battle of the seasons begin. Here on the farm we got just shy of two feet of snow and, “boy did it come down in a hurry!” There were times when I was plowing and I just had to stop because I could not see a thing. I find it amazing to think how in all that snow, we are told that there are no two snowflakes alike. I am not sure who does such studies, but I would not be up for the challenge to prove them wrong. That seems to be a task too big for me to compare each snowflake with the next. I am thankful that nothing is too big for God to do. The Bible tells us in Matthew 10:30, “But the very hairs on your head are numbered.” Talk about another job that I would not be able to do! He tells us this to let us know how much He loves us individually and because He does not want us to fear anything at all. We can trust the God who created how snowflakes would form, and how each one of us are designed, right down to the number of hairs on our head. God’s Word tells us to cast “all your cares upon him; for he careth for you.” – 1 Peter 5:7. Whatever situation you are in whether it is a very small problem or a blinding “blizzard” of troubles, give it to God in prayer and trust in Him to see you through the storm. He will give you the peaceful assurance that Spring is just around the corner!
